2018 Club Exclusive Eileen Pinot Noir
WINE OVERVIEW
Our Club Exclusive Collaborative Series winescapture the Oregon wine industry’s essence and spirit, allowing our winemaking team to partner with and explore other sites in the Willamette Valley.
This Pinot Noir showcases the diversity of thevarietal. The Eileen Vineyard was planted by our friends at Cristom in 1997 in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA. Made with the Pommard clone, this Pinot Noir was created with 100% stem inclusion that resulted in a broad, textural palate with outstanding tension. Aromatics and flavors of sandalwood, earthy bramble, peppercorn, and
hints of black raspberry carry from the glass all the way through the finish.
HARVEST OVERVIEW
On average, the 2018 vintage was a warmer and drier growing season. The vintage kicked off with an early bud break. June saw a cool, wet weather period during bloom, which put the vintage back on track for a traditional September harvest. Cluster sizes were smaller and more conducive to producing high-quality wines. The most notable climatic feature to the 2018 vintage, was our
pleasantly dry and moderately warm harvest weather that continued into early November. This allowed us to pick based on ripe flavors and near-perfect natural acidity.
