2016 History Mont Elise Gewurztraminer
Mont Elise was one of the first vineyards planted in the Columbia Gorge AVA. The vines are grown at 1800 feet, overlooking the Columbia River. The region experiences extreme growing conditions. Cold winters, windy spring, and summers with lots of heat lead to a Gewürztraminer that is truly unique.
The nose is rich and inviting, showing notes of lychee, apricot, and peach, with subtle floral hints, while the palate dances between bright vibrancy and rich, round textures with a dry finish.
The 2016 growing season was very warm and dry. The resulting wines are ripe, generous, and driven by fruit characteristics.
