2014 History Mont Elise Blanc de Noir
The fruit from this vineyard was the catalyst for the History brand. Planted by Charles (Chuck) Henderson in the late 1960s, this vineyard was among the first planted in the Columbia Gorge AVA. The property was purchased in 1999 by Founder and Winemaker Melissa Burr’s relatives. In 2013, she began making wine from the estate, setting the course for the collection of History wines. The 2014 History Blanc de Noir creates a confluence of time and place, showing the nuances of vine age and varietal typicity - the embodiment of History.
Comprised of 100% Pinot Noir, this brut sparkling wine was fermented in neutral oak barrels and aged on lees for five years before release. Aromatics of brioche, toasted nuts, sweet cream, and candied ginger follow on the palate, with vibrant acidity and fine effervescence that carry through a lengthy finish.
